What’s the best way to take Bio-Avail Colostrum+?

You can mix Bio-Avail Colostrum+ into both foods and beverages! Recent research suggests that for generally healthy individuals, taking colostrum with food does not significantly impact its absorption or benefits. Feel free to stir it into yogurt, oatmeal, smoothies, or other foods and drinks.

However, we advise against mixing Bio-Avail Colostrum+ into hot beverages like coffee or tea, as high temperatures can degrade the delicate immunoglobulins and other beneficial proteins. Stick with room temperature or cold liquids and foods for optimal results.

If you have diabetes, metabolic issues, or simply find you get better results taking it on an empty stomach, mixing Bio-Avail Colostrum+ with 6-8 ounces of room-temperature water and drinking it 30 minutes before or 2 hours after a meal is still a great option.

Does Bio-Avail Colostrum+ contain casein?

Yes, all dairy products (including colostrum) contain casein. We do not recommend taking Bio-Avail Colostrum+ if you have a casein sensitivity or allergy.

Am I depriving newborn calves of colostrum if I take this product?

No. The pasture-based farms we source colostrum from understand the importance of colostrum to developing calves. The calves are fed 2–4 liters of colostrum shortly after birth. New mothers often produce more than 12 liters, so the farmers can harvest this excess colostrum without harming the calves.

How much lactoferrin is in Bio-Avail Colostrum+?

Lactoferrin is naturally present in colostrum at 0.3-0.5%. This equals 3-5 mg per gram, or 7.5-12.5 mg per our 2.5 gram serving. However, Bio-Avail Colostrum+ also includes 100 mg of pure lactoferrin—yielding a total of 107.5 to 112.5 mg of lactoferrin per serving. This is far higher than other colostrum products that do not contain additional lactoferrin.

I’ve taken other colostrum supplements and decided to try this one because I liked other Adapt products but mainly because it was quite a bit cheaper than what I was using. I also mix it in my kindergarteners juice in the morning. His teacher asked what I was giving him when strep throat and the flu swept through the school and he was one of the few who was just fine. My Husband and I have been taking the Bio-Avail Colostrum+ for 3 months now and we are both noticing positive changes. The product itself is good. I am only on the second package but am starting to see positive GI changes. However, the packaging (albeit effective for shipping and storage) becomes very frustrating when accessing the product. The opening on the package is not very large, and using the plastic scoop can take several attempts to get a full scoop - especially when you are 50% > through the product. A shallower bag or scoop with a more extended handle would be a welcomed improvement. ATM I transfer the product into a glass storage container for easier access.
