Recent Colostrum+ change—a note from Chris
We are now using a new ingredient in Bio-Avail Colostrum+. This new version has started to ship, so you’ve either already received it or you will on your upcoming order.
I recognize that this was a big change. The taste and texture of the new colostrum powder are quite different from our previous version—and for some customers, that’s been a tough adjustment. (To be perfectly honest, I also prefer the taste/texture of the previous version. But I still made the change—and I’ll explain why below.)
If you’re feeling disappointed or frustrated, I hear you—and your reaction is valid.
Why I made this change
My top priority as a clinician and the founder of Adapt Naturals is and always has been efficacy. After extensive research and testing, I found a new source of grass-fed colostrum that meets my extremely high standards for quality, potency, and purity—and offers superior functional benefits compared to our previous formula:
- It’s made from whole colostrum rather than skim, which means you're getting a denser nutritional profile—including beneficial fats that contain naturally occurring co-factors not present in skim.
- It's processed using Advanced Biopotent Technology™ to help preserve the full integrity of colostrum and its delicate bioactive compounds.
- It’s a Full Spectrum product, containing all bioactive compounds present in naturally occurring colostrum.
Of course, this new ingredient is still 100% grass-fed and cold-processed, contains 25% IgG content, and is ethically sourced (within the first 24 hours of calving) from USDA Grade A small family farms.
And Bio-Avail Colostrum+ is still the only colostrum product on the market that also contains 100 mg of Bioferrin lactoferrin and 250 mg of Wellmune beta-glucan in each serving. This amplifies and extends the gut and immune support provided by colostrum itself.
What this means for you
I believe this is a substantial upgrade from a clinical standpoint, and will make Bio-Avail Colostrum+ even more effective than it already was. You can expect:
- More complete immune protection, thanks to intact fat-soluble cofactors and peptides
- Greater gut barrier support, which means better resilience against pathogens, toxins, and allergens
- Richer nutritional content to help regulate inflammation and restore immune balance
- Support for skin, mood, and energy, through improved gut-immune signaling
This means you’ll feel more resilient, less reactive to food triggers, and experience clearer skin and steadier energy with consistent use.
A note on the smell and color
Some customers have noticed that the new colostrum has a stronger smell or slightly different appearance. This is completely normal—and expected. Just like whole milk has a richer aroma and color than skim milk, whole colostrum naturally carries more of the characteristic scent and color of grass-fed dairy. (Similarly, you may have noticed that grass-fed butter and pasture-raised eggs look more gold or even orange compared to conventional alternatives.) That’s due to the presence of the healthy fats and bioactive compounds that are preserved in this full-spectrum version.
We want to reassure you: this product is not spoiled or off in any way. Every batch of Bio-Avail Colostrum+ is third-party tested for freshness, purity, and potency. If it’s in your pouch, it has passed rigorous quality standards. (You can find our most recent test results here.)
#1 Tip for Taking the New Colostrum
Struggling with the new taste/texture? Try this:
- Mix into yogurt or kefir (stir well)
- Blend into a smoothie
- Stir into unsweetened applesauce
- Combined with mashed banana
- Mix into coconut milk or cream
IMPORTANT: research shows that mixing colostrum with food does not reduce its absorption or effectiveness. So you can still get the full benefits even if you're not taking it on an empty stomach.
Skip hot drinks: Avoid mixing with coffee or other hot beverages—heat can damage the delicate bioactive compounds.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have further questions, concerns, or ideas. We’re here to help.
In health,
